Today marks the 100th
anniversary of the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II. It’s hard to believe that it
was already a century ago – it seems to be so far in time, a completely different
time and era, and yet when I remember that my great-grandfather was almost 20
years old back then – my great-grandfather whom even my mother met – it no
longer seems so distant.
